Locations in Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter. It is a sequel to Destiny and it will be released on September 8 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game was expected to have over 50 stages but playable area will include new planets as well as some familiar places from the original game.
The Guardian, who is the player character in Destiny 2, will visit new and familiar locations as they take on Ghaul and his Red Legion. Locations include Saturn’s moon Titan; Earth; Nessus; Io; Mercury; the European Dead Zone (EDZ); and Jovian moon Callisto.

Earth
The European Dead Zone featured in the game is on Earth. According to a Bungie employee, this area will be “twice as large” as Nellis Air Force Base.[1] Earth’s EDZ is a destination that has been described by Bungie as a “crisis zone,” which was visited prior to the events of Destiny.
In Destiny 2, humanity’s Last City on Earth has been attacked by the Red Legion and it is in ruins. Meanwhile, a monstrous alien ship hovers over what remains of The Traveller.
Titan
Titan is one of the six inhabited planets in Destiny’s universe. Unlike all other known worlds, which are hospitable to human life, Titan has a thick atmosphere of methane and nitrogen with poisonous compounds that render it inhospitable to humans. The moon is dotted with ruins built hundreds of years ago by an alien civilization that has since vanished.
Titan is the only place in Destiny that has areas where Guardians can hide from other Guardians while you go about your business without worrying about getting killed. There are indestructible pillars and various structures around the map, plus there’s a secondary location called The Rig that also features many hiding spots for you to utilize.
Nessus
Nessus is a planetoid in the fourth asteroid belt. It is mostly known for being infested by the Vex, who have converted it into their own personal machine world filled with their virtual realities and machines. Nessus also has landscapes that look like landscapes on Earth such as mountains, valleys, and deserts. The Cabal and Fallen also claim the planetoid as their own territory.
Io
The moon Io is one of Jupiter’s Galilean moons, the most volcanically active body in the Solar System and has over 400 volcanoes. It is where Commander Zavala went after he left The Last City to lead a resistance against Red Legion forces on behalf of the Traveler. The Red Legion have set up a foothold here, with their headquarters being above an enormous volcano.
Destiny 2 the Tangle Lost Sector
Is on Io, the largest moon of Jupiter. It is an area where Vex structures are littered around a lost Fallen ship. There’s also another location known as the Pyramidion where you must defeat some powerful Vex.
Mercury
The planet Mercury is the closest to the Sun in our Solar System and has no Moon. The European Space Agency has announced it will send a spaceship to explore Mercury in 2015.
Mercury is one of the locations that Guardians can investigate if they are interested in long-term tracking, as well as conducting missions to acquire resources for daily activities. The world also has Patrols that are suggested to become high priority after the Red War because of its ties to the Vex, and the hidden secrets waiting for Guardians who investigate there.
